In this 'Listening Tone Test' study session you will be presented with 10 flashcard-style questions. For each question a single syllable Thai word will be spoken and a list of the 5 possible Thai tones - Middle Tone, Low Tone, Falling Tone, High Tone and Rising Tone - will be displayed. The challenge is to listen to the Thai word and then select which tone you think is correct from the list. You can click the blue play icon to hear the audio again as many times as you wish.

At the end of the study session your score will be displayed along with the words from each question. The correct answer and your selection will be shown for each question, and it's possible to listen to the audio for each word listed.

Being able to distinguish between the different tones is an important part of your progression with learning the Thai language. The 'Listening Tone Test' study session is designed to help you practice your ability to identify between the different tones that are used in Thai.
