Settings for Consonants Flashcards
Select whether the Consonants Flashcards test you using a standard looped font (recommended for beginners); or a modern loopless style font (more difficult if you've just been learning the regular Thai lettering); or you can choose to show both styles to help with becoming familiar with both the traditional style and the modern loopless style.
Please note that both the traditional style and the modern loopless style are shown in the answer cards.
Consonants Flashcards
In this 'Consonants Flashcards' study session you will be presented with 10 flashcards. For each flashcard a randomly selected Thai consonant will be displayed along with a 'Show Answer' button. Click the 'Show Answer' button to see the details about the consonant, e.g. the name of the consonant; it’s meaning; the sound; and whether it’s a High Class, Middle Class or Low Class consonant.
If you were able to correctly identify the consonant then click the green 'Correct' button to move onto the next flashcard. If you didn't know the consonant then click the red 'Incorrect' button, which will still move onto the next flashcard but will show the flashcard again until you click the 'Correct' button.
The flashcard study session will keep cycling through any remaining consonants until you've clicked 'Correct' for each one.
The Thai consonant is displayed using both a traditional looped font, and a modern loopless font. You can click the cog wheel 'settings' icon to select which font style(s) will be used when the flashcards are displayed.
Regularly using flashcards is one of the best ways of memorising the Thai alphabet.
